Prince George’s County Office of Procurement Opens Supplier Opportunities Access Resources (SOAR) Center to Expand In-Person Support for Local and County-Based Businesses
For Immediate Release:
January 21, 2026
Largo, MD – The Prince George’s County Office of Procurement (OOP) will cut the ribbon on the Supplier Opportunities Access Resources (SOAR) Center. SOAR is a new in-person resource hub designed to support local, small, and county-based businesses seeking to do business with Prince George’s County.
The SOAR Center will be located at 1400 McCormick Drive, Suite 136A, Largo, MD 20774 and will provide walk-in access, hands-on assistance with vendor registration, county business certification guidance, and procurement education. The Center, which will be operated by the Office of Procurement’s (OOP) Office of Accountability, Supplier Development and Diversity Division (SD3), is a major step forward in modernizing how the County engages the local business community.
“The SOAR Center reflects a fundamental shift in how Prince George’s County supports its business community,” said Office of Procurement Director and Purchasing Officer Alice Williams. “This is more than a resource center that prioritizes access, education, and engagement with the County business community. Our goal is to remove barriers, improve the vendor experience, and ensure that County-based and local businesses are positioned to successfully compete for County procurement opportunities.”
The SOAR Center will serve as a central point of entry for businesses, offering:
- Assistance with SAP Ariba vendor registration and profile maintenance
- Guidance on County certification programs and eligibility
- Support businesses navigating the County’s procurement processes
Opening the SOAR Center aligns with Prince George’s County’s broader procurement modernization efforts, including transparency and expanded business engagement initiatives. As well SOAR’s efforts support County Executive Braveboy’s economic development priorities, including doing business with businesses in Prince George’s County, and an Office of Procurement with a commitment to equity, accountability, and economic inclusion.
“OOP is focused on building a procurement community that is accessible, transparent, and results-driven,” said Office of Procurement, Office of Accountability Executive Director Arielle Douglas. “The SOAR Center strengthens our ability to meet businesses where they are and provide the guidance and resources needed to grow participation in County procurement opportunities.”
A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony and business community open house to celebrate the SOAR Center’s opening was previously scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the center. This event is currently postponed until further notice due to recent inclement weather.

Updated on January 29, 2026 to note the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony has been postponed.
