Emergency Snow Assistance for Residents with Limited Mobility
January 27–January 30, 2026
Operation Silver Shovel is a rapid-response emergency snow removal service provided by the Office of the County Executive. This program is designed to help residents who are 70 years or older and those with limited mobility.
By clearing safe exit paths, the program helps maintain access for emergency medical services (EMS) and supports personal safety.
This service is exclusively available to senior residents of Prince George’s County.
Eligibility Requirements
Seniors 70 years or older
(Must provide valid ID)Individuals with disabilities
(Must provide ID and disability card)Must live in a single-family home and/or townhome
(No condominiums or apartments)Must provide proof of address
Important Notes
All applicants are required to submit supporting documentation.
Each request must be validated and approved before service.
Upon approval, snow removal services are limited and provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Snow removal services will run through Friday, January 30, 2026.
