Get Ready for the New School Year!

Join the Prince George's County Office of Community Relations for the Back to School Bash, a free community event designed to help students and families prepare for a successful school year. Open to students in Pre-K through Grade 12, this event offers school readiness resources, free services, entertainment, and fun activities for the entire family.

Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Location: Iverson Mall – Forman Mills Parking Lot
Temple Hills, MD

Admission: Free and open to the public

What to Expect

Families can take advantage of a variety of free resources and activities, including:

  • Free haircuts and hair braiding (limited availability; first-come, first-served. Styles and services are limited, and hair must be washed before arrival.)
  • Hygiene information and community resources
  • Sneaker cleaning workshop
  • Educational resources for students and parents, including tutoring, mentoring, and PGCPS family resources
  • Fingerprinting and child ID kits
  • Affirmation station
  • Live performances and music
  • Free vision and dental screenings for students (parent consent form required before services are provided)
  • Arts and crafts
  • Narcan training
  • Roller skating
  • Sweet treats and more
