Program Overview
The Prince George’s County Civic Academy is a county-sponsored initiative built to close the gap between government and the people it serves. Elevating Resident Awareness is a 12-week virtual experience designed to connect you directly to the heartbeat of your government.
This program will:
- Elevate your understanding of how local government operates
- Connect you to meaningful civic and volunteer opportunities
- Activate you as a leader—beyond the voting booth
- This isn’t theory. This is civic immersion.
While sessions are hosted from the comfort of your home, they are not a passive experience. You will:
- Engage directly with County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy and senior leadership
- Connect with leaders across agencies and municipalities
- Gain access to exclusive in-person opportunities, including volunteer initiatives and select government meetings
- Witness—and participate in—your government in action
What You’ll Walk Away With
- A clear understanding of county systems and services
- A network of engaged, like-minded residents
- A pathway to lead, serve, and influence in your community
