Primary Election - May 14, 2024, 7 am until 8 pm

  • Early Voting for the Primary Election - Thursday, May 2, 2024, through Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 7 am until 8 pm.

General Election - November 5, 2024, 7 am until 8 pm

  • Early Voting for the General Election - Thursday, October 24, 2024, through Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 7 am until 8 pm.

Prince George’s County 2024 Presidential Primary Ballot Drop Box Locations

Return your ballot by mail, or you can drop it off in person at a drop box location in Prince George’s County. Simply place your completed ballot in the return envelope, sign the oath on the envelope, seal the return envelope and take it to a drop box in the county.  Ballot drop boxes will be available for use beginning April 1, 2024. The drop boxes will remain available through 8PM, Tuesday, May 14th. Please make sure your oath is signed on the return envelope or the ballot will not count.   Ballot drop boxes are monitored and secured by trusted election officials. Ballots are retrieved from drop boxes daily by bipartisan election teams. The drop boxes are not the property of the United States Postal Service. If you have any questions, please contact your local election office.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Prince George's County Board of Elections is to promote voter education, administer an efficient voting process, maintain an accurate voter registration database, and ensure that elected officials are elected in accordance with Federal, State, and County election laws.

Membership

The Governor, by and with the consent of the Senate, appoints five persons who constitute the Board of Elections. The appointees are selected from lists furnished by the County Central Committee of the Democratic and Republican parties. The Board is responsible for the supervision of all County, State and Federal Elections held in Prince George's County.

Responsibilities

The Board of Elections is responsible for the supervision of elections, voter registration and record keeping, and the administration of election laws in Prince George's County, in accordance with The Election Law Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland. The Board and the Election Administrator seek to provide voter registration to every County citizen who wants it.
