LARGO, MD – Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks will host a public hearing tonight at Flowers High School to allow County residents to voice their thoughts regarding the search for a permanent CEO of the Prince George’s County Public School System. The appointment of Interim CEO Dr. Monica Goldson expires on June 30th and the national search that is required by law before a permanent CEO can be appointed is set to begin soon.
In compliance with the law, a firm has been hired to conduct the search. Once complete, the firm will send six to seven candidates to a three-member selection committee appointed by Governor Hogan. That committee will then forward three names to Alsobrooks and she must make her appointment from those candidates.
Once Alsobrooks has named a CEO, the Board of Education will negotiate the terms of the CEO’s contract and send a formal letter to the State Superintendent for final approval.
