LARGO, MD - On December 20, 2016, Prince George’s County Health Department and Dimensions Healthcare System will celebrate the opening of the Dimensions Specialty Care Center in Coral Hills. This event marks the introduction of the County’s fifth Health Enterprise Zone Patient Centered Medical Home. The opening of the Dimensions Specialty Care Center will complete the development phase of the Health Enterprise Zone project which sought to expand and establish five new medical practices to serve more than 40,000 residents in and around the 20743 zip code.
“We are excited about the launch of the Dimensions Specialty Care Center in Coral Hills, as it complements the four primary care medical practices currently operating
in the Prince George's County Health Enterprise Zone,” said Pamela B. Creekmur, Prince George’s County Health Officer. “The
Dimensions Specialty Care Center will provide critically needed specialty services, including cardiology, pulmonology, behavioral health and infectious disease
control. It will have a positive impact on the quality of life for residents in this community.”
To receive designation as a Health Enterprise Zone, community coalitions in Prince George’s County identified geographic areas with measurable and documented economic disadvantage and poor health outcomes. The goal of the Health Enterprise Zone Initiative is to use targeted investments in community health to reduce health disparities, improve access and outcomes in under served communities, and reduce health care costs, hospital admissions and readmissions.
