Landover, MD – As we continue to move into the winter season, bitter cold temperatures will become more prevalent. The Prince George’s County Office of Homeland Security/Office of Emergency Management reminds all citizens to take steps to prepare themselves for extreme cold temperatures. The Office of Emergency Management in collaboration with the Prince George’s County Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission has designated twelve warming centers in the County. Warming centers are heated public facilities where any resident can temporarily go to during periods of extreme cold temperatures to stay warm and safe. Residents are reminded to call the center to obtain specific hours of operation.
