LARGO, MD – There are hundreds of reasons why you should consider adopting a dog. They are smart, have great personalities, are very supportive, and make great exercise buddies. Throughout the month of October, your Department of the Environment's (DoE) Animal Management Division (AMD) is celebrating National Adopt-A-Dog Month by waiving adoption, micro chipping and vaccination fees for anyone who adopts a dog from the Prince George’s County Animal Services Facility.

“During Adopt-a-Dog Month, save a life and support your local animal shelter at the same time. The County’s animal shelter should be the first go-to choice when looking for a new pet. There are dogs of every type, size and age available for adoption at the Facility. Our helpful and knowledgeable staff is here to support new adopters through this very important decision of bringing a new pet into their loving home,” says Rodney Taylor, Associate Director of AMD.
