[ARCHIVED] Prince George's County Closures in Observation of Labor Day

Prince George’s County government offices, with the exception of public safety agencies, will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2016, in observance of Labor Day

LARGO, MD –– The following services and facilities provided by the Prince George’s County Department of the Environment will be closed or suspended on Monday, September 5, 2016.

Animal Services Facility
(3750 Brown Station Road)
Closed

Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill
Closed

Brown Station Road Public Convenience Center
Closed

Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site
(Located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill)
Closed

Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site
(Located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill)
Closed

Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center
Closed

Prince George’s County Yard Waste Composting Facility
Closed

Prince George’s County Materials Recycling Facility
(1000 Ritchie Road)
Closed

Bulky Trash Collection
(By appointment only)
No Collection
(Collection will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 6)

Trash Collection in County-Contracted Areas
No Collection
(Once-a-week collections will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 6 and continue through Friday, Sept. 9)

Curbside Recycling Collection
No Collection
(Once-a-week collections will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 6 and continue through Friday, Sept. 9)

County Yard Waste Collection
No Collection (Collections will resume on Monday, Sept. 12)

Other Government Office Closures include:

TheBus, under the administration of the Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), will not be operational on Monday, September 5, 2016 in observance of Labor Day. In addition, the County’s Call-A-Bus, including senior transportation services, will not be operational on Monday, September 5, 2016. Normal route services will resume on Tuesday, September 6, 2016.

The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement will also be closed on Monday, September 5, 2016, for the Labor Day holiday. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 6, 2016.

In addition, Prince George’s CountyClick 3-1-1 will be closed on Monday, September 5, 2016 and will return to normal operations on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com.
