[ARCHIVED] TOMORROW: County Executive Baker Announces Next Phase of the Prince George’s County TNI

Upper Marlboro, MD – Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at the Palmer Park Community Center, 7720 Barlowe Road, Landover, MD, Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III, will join officials and community leaders to announce the next phase of the Prince George’s County Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative (TNI). Launched in April 2012, TNI is County Executive Baker’s signature community based initiative that has received national recognition, funding and awards for its innovative approach to local governance and community engagement. At this event, County Executive Baker will announce updates to the overall TNI program, including areas that will be turned over to the community to facilitate as well as other locations to be added to the TNI program.
“From Harvard University to the White House and everywhere in between, we have been so proud to share the model and successes of the first four years of our award winning Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative,” said Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III. “When we launched this program, it was designed to be fluid, flexible and driven by data analysis. We always planned to adjust and re-focus this program on the communities that need it the most, while leaving established infrastructures in the locations that we will be turning over to the community.”
