[ARCHIVED] Prince George's County will hold a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Contee Road Project

LARGO, MD – Tomorrow, June 10, at 11:00 a.m., Prince George’s County Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Public Infrastructure, Barry L. Stanton, and Council Member Mary Lehman (D-District 1) will join Darrell B. Mobley, Director, Prince George’s County Public Works and Transportation Department (DPW&T) to break ground on the Contee Road project in Laurel, Maryland.
This project is the culmination of several years of planning and design by DPW&T. The scope of the project includes the widening, reconstruction and realignment of a portion of Contee Road from US Route 1 to Konterra Drive. “With the added capacity to Contee Road, we are excited that this project will support economic development in the area”, said Darrell B. Mobley, Director, DPW&T.

The project has been designed as a four-lane divided closed section roadway and will include continuous bicycle lanes, ADA-compliant sidewalks and crosswalks, traffic signals, wide medians containing bio-swales for storm water management, and landscaping and trees.
