Largo, MD – Now, through April 30, the Prince George’s County Department of the Environment (DoE), Animal Services Facility and Adoption Center (ASFAC) will offer free dog and cat adoptions thanks to a $50,000 grant from Best Friends Animal Society, a leading animal welfare organization. Adopters can meet and take a pet home on the same day.
“We’re excited to partner with Best Friends Animal Society to help us reduce the County’s shelter population and find loving homes for our many homeless animals,” said DoE Director Andrea Crooms. “We encourage anyone searching for that special pet to take advantage of this free adoption event.”
ASFAC also seeks qualified foster homes to help control the shelter’s pet population. Interested adopters and fosters can view available pets at www.princegeorgespets4us.com. They can also visit the facility at 3750 Brown Station Road in Upper Marlboro, Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m., or call 301-780-7235 for more information. Standard adoption processes and a $10 license fee for residents apply.
