[ARCHIVED] DPW&T Proud to Blog | Litter and Mowing Blitz

We are in your communities

As you may know, Prince George’s County has begun the County-wide Litter and Mowing Blitz initiative to tackle the problem of litter in our communities.

The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) have been taking strides to solve this unprecedented issue by focusing on quadrupling litter collection, mowing, edging, and street sweeping.

We have increased litter and debris removal from weekly to twice a week in all nine county council districts. In addition, DPW&T crews and contractors has conducted a litter-blitz of primary collector roadways throughout the County. We have conducted street sweeping, guardrail maintenance, litter pick-up, and mowing on heavily littered County roadways as well.

In all, DPW&T will continue this County-wide Litter and Mowing Blitz over a 120-day time span. We encourage residents to not litter in the first place, and to please remember to report all litter and illegal dumping to PGC311.com.
