The Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) hosted National Bike Week on May 16-22, 2022, and National Bike to Work Day on May 20, 2022, to provide important information about bike safety, mobility, and resources.
This year marked the 21st Anniversary of “Bike to Work Day” in the National Capital Region. As part of the celebration, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG), Commuter Connections, and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) coordinated approximately 100 “Bike to Work Day” events across the region, which included ten pit stops in Prince George’s County.
The Largo/Kettering/Perrywood Community Center served as 1 of 10 pit stops co-hosted by DPW&T, M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County, and the Prince George’s Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Community Advisory Group.
National Bike to Work Day gathered around 9,000 participants throughout the region and provided essential resources for residents, employees, and visitors to explore affordable and sustainable modes of transportation in their commute to work.
