[ARCHIVED] Prince George’s County Announces Holiday Closings for Independence Day

County government offices, with the exception of public safety agencies, will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2020, in observance of Independence Day

LARGO, MD – The following offices, services, and facilities will be closed or suspended on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, 2020. *NOTE: Some operations are currently suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Animal Services Facility 
(3750 Brown Station Road)

The Animal Services Facility is closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Essential services provided by appointment ONLY include: 

  • Return-to-owner: If your pet is at the Shelter, call 301-780-7241 to schedule an appointment to reclaim your pet.
  • Pet Surrenders: Owner surrenders in emergency situations should call 301-780-7242 to schedule an appointment.

Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill

Bulky Trash Collection

To view a list of modified bulky trash drop-off locations, visit www.environment.mypgc.us.  Scheduled curbside bulky trash collections have been suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Curbside Recycling Collection

County Yard Trim Collections

Regular collections occur Monday, June 29, 2020

*Facility only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday*

TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), will not operate on Friday, July 3, 2020. Regular COVID-19 operations of TheBus will resume on Monday, July 6, 2020. In addition, the County’s Call-A-Bus service, including dialysis transportation, will not operate on Friday, July 3, 2020. Regular COVID-19 operations of the Call-A-Bus services will resume on Monday, July 6, 2020.

The Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement (DPIE) will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2020. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, July 6, 2020.

In addition, Prince George’s CountyClick 3-1-1 will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2020, and will resume regular operations on Monday, July 6, 2020; 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com/.
