[ARCHIVED] Announcement: Petition for Election of Labor Organization

On October 1, 2019, the Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM) received a petition from the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Council 67, pursuant to the Prince George’s County Labor Code, Section 13A-105, for certification as the exclusive representative of all Call Center Representatives in the 311 Call Center for purposes of collective bargaining. AFSCME seeks to add the 311 Call Center Representatives into the bargaining unit currently represented by Local 2735.

AFSCME has in its possession and has provided to OHRM twelve (12) signed Authorization of Representation forms from 311 Call Center Representatives, accounting for approximately sixty-seven percent (67%) of those employees.

Per Section 13A-105 (b)(2) of the Prince George’s County Labor Code, any labor organization shall be allowed to intervene upon the filing of a petition with the Director of the Office of Human Resources Management supported by evidence of at least 10% representation in said unit. The proposed intervener must meet all applicable requirements set forth in the Labor Code. Per Section 13A-105 (d)(3), any labor organization desiring to intervene must submit a petition within ten (10) days. The ten (10) day submission period is from October 8, 2019 through October 18, 2019. Placing this announcement satisfies the posting of notice requirement.
