Free Event to Highlight the Unified Vision of a Community Free of Domestic Violence, Led by Men.
Camp Springs, MD- On Friday, June 14, 2019, the Prince George’s County Department of Family Services, Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Division i
s sponsoring a FREE Father’s Day Pledge Initiative at the Sanctuary at Kingdom Square, in Capitol Heights, MD. The purpose of the event is to help break the silence of domestic violence and invite men and women across the County to pledge a commitment to preventing violence.
The Department of Family Services has a goal of securing 1,000 signatures through the Father’s Day Pledge grassroots initiative. The Father’s Day Pledge boards have been distributed to government agencies, nonprofit organizations, places of worship, businesses and companies; and will be displayed on June 14th to demonstrate the county’s collective and united vision of a community free of domestic violence, led by men.
There will be a short program with county officials, resource materials and refreshments at the Sanctuary at Kingdom Square, in Capital Heights, Maryland from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. County residents are invited to sign a pledge board and write a personal pledge.
