PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION CONDEMNS ACT OF HATE IN SRI LANKA
The Prince George’s County Human Relations Commission is devastated at yet another horrific attack on people of faith. On Sunday in Sri Lanka, men, women, boys and girls were killed as they prayed, as they dined together, and as they enjoyed family time. These simple, basic acts – the acts of loving human existence – are the right of all people no matter how they choose to worship or whom they claim as family, and we mourn the loss of so many bright lives. We stand strongly on the side of equity and harmony and reaffirm the place in Prince George’s County – and in our world – for people of all faiths and backgrounds to live in solidarity and peace with each other. Our diversity is our strength, and we are proud of the rich fabric of people who make Prince George’s County such a vibrant and wonderful place to live and to work.
For those looking to come together in conversation and understanding, we are hosting on May 1st a conversation for the community entitled “Building Justice In Our Communities – Uniting Against Hate.” We welcome you to join us. Due to space limitations, attendance at this free event is limited to those who register in advance at https://unitingagainsthate.eventbrite.com.
