LARGO, MD - With the snow taking a break, and temperatures forecasted to be in the 60s the next couple days, the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) is taking advantage of the nice weather to focus on filling potholes caused by the frigid temperatures, snow, and salt. DPW&T crews are resuming pothole repairs, on County-maintained primary and major collector roadways, after last week’s snow.
“As safety is our top priority
we want to do what we can, when we can, to improve Prince George’s County
roadways,” said Terry Bellamy, DPW&T’s Acting Director. “During this
pothole blitz, all our maintenance personnel and resources are dedicated to
pothole repair.”
Drivers are advised to stay alert and be aware of trucks and crews working to improve the roadways. Drivers are also reminded to drive safely, obey the posted speed limit, and slow down when approaching a work zone.
