[ARCHIVED] REMINDER: Prince George’s County Hosts Fall 2018 ‘Clean Up, Green Up’

LARGO, MD – Prince George’s County’s bi-annual countywide beautification event – ‘Clean Up, Green Up’ – will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018, rain or shine.

LARGO, MD – Prince George’s County’s bi-annual countywide beautification event – ‘Clean Up, Green Up’ – will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018, rain or shine.  The County invites community organizations, schools, businesses, municipalities, and anyone interested in helping keep our County clean and green to participate.


“‘Clean Up, Green Up’ is a win-win on
several levels.  Not only is it great for the environment with theplanting, cleaning, and litter removal, it also creates opportunities for
neighbors to reconnect with one another and for new residents, businesses, andorganizations to get to know their communities,” said Gwendolyn T. Clerkley,
Acting Director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation(DPW&T). 
 


Registration for this fall’s ‘Clean Up, Green Up’ closed on October 5, 2018.  For registered participants, DPW&T will provide plastic gloves, trash bags, safety vests, litter grabbers, and a maximum of eight (8) bags of mulch for the event.  Although the registration deadline has passed,
we urge you to join in with your community for the Fall 2018 ‘Clean Up, GreenUp.’ 


Students who participate in ‘Clean Up,
Green Up’ can receive community service hours.  Community serviceverification forms are available at the schools.


‘Clean Up, Green Up’ is a partnership
between Prince George’s County Government, Prince George’s County PublicSchools, the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Keep
Prince George’s County Beautiful, and the Neighborhood Design Center.
