Gathering Guidance

Help protect yourself and others from COVID-19.

The best way to minimize COVID-19 risk and keep your family and friends safer during gatherings is to get vaccinated (individuals ages 5 and older are eligible).

Celebrating Safely

  • Protect those not yet eligible for vaccination, such as children under the age of 5, by getting yourself and other eligible people around them vaccinated and boosted (if eligible).
  • You may wear a mask anytime in Prince George’s County, but masks are required on public transportation, in public schools, and in businesses that choose to require them.
  • If you have household or social contact with someone at high risk for severe disease, consider self-testing to detect infection before contact and consider wearing a mask when indoors with them.
  • Avoid crowded, poorly ventilated spaces.
  • If you have COVID-19 or if you have symptoms, do not host or attend a gathering.
  • Get tested if you have symptoms or had close contact with someone who has COVID-19.

For additional information and guidance, please visit the CDC’s website.

Travel Considerations: What You Need to Know

  • Delay travel until you are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines.
  • Check your destination’s COVID-19 situation before traveling. State, local, and territorial governments may have travel restrictions in place.
  • Wearing a mask over your nose and mouth is required in indoor areas of public transportation (including airplanes) and indoors in U.S. transportation hubs (including airports).
  • Do not travel if you have been exposed to COVID-19, you are sick, or if you test positive for COVID-19.
  • If you are not fully vaccinated and must travel, get tested both before and after your trip.

Please note: As of November 8th, 2021, travel requirements to enter the United States have changed. More information is available here.

Visit the CDC’s travel website for additional information and resources about traveling during the pandemic.
