Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted (LEOKA)
The LEOKA program is a subset of the UCR system administered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Police work is inherently dangerous, and a metric was needed to account for the number of officers who are injured or killed while performing police action. This program accounts for such injuries and deaths. Prince George’s County police will report all assaults on officers, with or without injuries. It should be noted that this section of data only includes PGPD officers and not officers from our municipal partners within the County.
Data displayed within this section indicates how many Prince George’s County police officers were injured and by what means, by month. Prince George’s County police officers killed in the line of duty are denoted underneath the monthly chart.
