Applications for the 2020 Youth@Work/Summer Youth Enrichment Program are now being accepted, from 9 a.m. on January 6 through 5 p.m. on February 28. Check out the 2020 flyer for more information (English | Spanish).

Youth@Work will host several job fairs where you can apply and possibly interview on the spot for permanent and temporary positions that begin prior to SYEP!

The 2020 Youth@Work/SYEP will take place June 29 through August 7.

To be eligible, youth must be:
• Age 14 to 22 as of July 1st of the program year
• Permanent resident of Prince George’s County
• Legally able to work in the U.S.
• Able to work the entire six-week employment period

Youth may be assigned to positions in the following career fields:
• Arts - Performing/Graphic/Visual                
• Custodial/Public Works                                  
• Education                                                        
• Engineering                                                    
• Environment                                                    
• Financial Services
• Healthcare
• Hospitality
• Human/Social Services
• Office Support
• Public Safety
• Recreation
• Retail
• Technology
• Trades

Youth may also be assigned to a position in a Capstone program. Capstones provide job training and career exploration in fields such as Beautification, Leadership, Construction, Culinary Arts/Hospitality, Energy, and Professional Development. Capstones may be held in a classroom setting.

Participation in Youth@Work/SYEP is limited and based on the number of positions available and the needs of employers. Completing an application does not guarantee the applicant will be offered a position. To be considered for a position, all sections of the application must be completed. No applications will be accepted after the deadline.

What You’ll Need to Complete Your Application


  • Do not use past years’ login credentials.
  • Do not use a school email address.
  • Do not create duplicate applications. Contact us if you are having issues.

Social Security Number
If you need a new or replacement Social Security Card or have forgotten your number, visit the Social Security Administration website. 

Valid Email Address for Youth 
The email address should belong to the youth. Middle and high school students and students at some colleges, such as Prince George’s Community College, are advised not to use their school email address. Free email accounts are available from Google, Yahoo, and other providers.

Valid Email Address for Parent/Guardian (for youth ages 14 to 17 only)
New this year, parents/guardians of minors will receive messages sent to their child’s email address. Note: Parent/guardian’s email address must be different from the youth’s email address.

While optional, youth are strongly encouraged to upload a resume (Word or PDF) with their application. A resume is an excellent way to present your educational, extracurricular and work-related accomplishments and experience to prospective employers. If you need to create a resume, use Resume Builder, a free online tool provided by Prince George’s Community College.
