On Saturday, November 11, 2017, Carrollton Enterprises welcomed County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III and members of his Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative (TNI) Team to host their First Annual Stuff-A-Truck event at the Largo Plaza Shopping Center in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Members of all six TNI Teams along with citizen volunteers collected canned and non-perishable food items at the shopping center from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Over 1,800 pounds of canned and non-perishable food items were collected.

The following week, members of the six Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative Teams regrouped to purchase turkeys and sort and package the donations for delivery.  Eighty family packages were prepared and delivered to families in need throughout the TNI communities.  The Teams also supported several food pantries and churches in the TNI focus areasthat provide food to families in need during the Thanksgiving season.

County Executive Baker enjoyed the festivities and provided closing remarks.  Mr. Baker expressed his appreciation to all of the volunteers, performers and TNI Team members who came out to support the event. The Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative Team is looking forward to increasing support for next year’s event to impact even more Prince George’s County families in 2018.
