The Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (Fire/EMS) Department strives to improve the quality of life in Prince George’s County by promoting safety, and providing the highest quality of fire prevention, fire protection, emergency medical services, and community outreach programs.
The Office of Homeland Security (OHS) coordinates the activities needed to protect the lives and property of residents, the environment, and critical infrastructure from natural disaster, attack or accident. OHS includes 9-1-1 dispatch for first responders and the Office of Emergency Management whose primary component is organizing preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation of county hazards.
