We will continue to accept applications for all permit types via the current permitting system, ePermits. We will notify you when we go live with Momentum.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
DPIE is experiencing lengthy delays in permit application and building plan reviews for several reasons: higher than normal application submittals, staff shortages due to retirement, staff resignations and other factors. To address these delays, DPIE is utilizing overtime, employing contract plan reviewers and providing residential templates for deck design to reduce review times. DPIE is also providing outreach community information sessions to walk residents through processes.

The Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement (DPIE) consolidates into one location the various functions associated with the regulation and approval of economic development and redevelopment projects within Prince George’s County. These functions include the authorization and regulation of building, site/road and utility permits, as well as business licensing, all of which help to drive the local economy and ensure the health and safety of County residents, businesses, investors and visitors.
As part of this process, DPIE provides inspection oversight of construction, development and grading activities for residential and commercial construction and renovations to verify Code compliance. In addition, DPIE is charged with the enforcement of County codes that address property standards to ensure that Prince George’s County’s many diverse communities are maintained in a safe and aesthetically pleasing manner for the benefit of all.
