Appeals

Property owners may appeal their Clean Water Act Fee if they feel it was determined in error. The grounds for appeal are limited to the following:

---Errors made regarding the impervious surface measurement of the property (applicable to   multi-family residential and non-residential properties only)

---Errors in the zoning classification of the property (applicable to single-family residential properties only)

---Mathematical errors in the calculation of the fee

---Misidentification of the property owner

Property owners who wish to appeal their Clean Water Act Fee are encouraged to submit a service request through the CountyClick 311 website.

Please make sure to include the following information as a minimum:

1. Your Full Name
2. Property Tax Account Number(s)
3. Email Address
4. Nature of Request (Describe)

The Prince George's County Department of Environmental Resources will review your request and respond as soon as possible, typically within 30 business days. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may submit a formal appeal to the Director of the Department of Environmental Resources using the FEE APPEAL REQUEST FORM​. Completed forms may be attached to the service request in CountyClick, or submitted via mail at:

Appeals Deadline

To be eligible for a fee credit for the current taxable year (July 1 – June 30), appeals must be submitted not later than October 1st of the year for which the Clean Water Act Fee is assessed.​ All other requests will be eligible for a fee credit in the following taxable year.


Multiple Property Tax Accounts

Any property owner that has multiple property tax accounts and wishes to investigate combining them into a single account can contact the Prince George's County Assessment Office by either facsimile or mail. Your request must be in writing and include all property tax accounts and addresses. The County Assessment Office will investigate and consider your request.
