LARGO, MD – In addition to the earlier closing of Governors Bridge Road, the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) closed Brock Bridge Road at the Prince George’s/Anne Arundel County line due to high water caused by the heavy rainfall. DPW&T anticipates that Brock Bridge Road will reopen on Thursday after the rains end and the necessary safety evaluations have been conducted. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes.
DPW&T has also posted high-water warning signs on Sunnyside Avenue at Indian Creek Bridge in Beltsville, Parkwood Street at Fairwood Road in Landover, and Contee Road at Mayfair Road in Laurel. Motorists are advised to stay alert and use caution when driving. Motorists should also be aware of high standing water and utilize the public safety advice of “turn around, don’t drown” if the level of standing water is undetermined.
