LARGO, MD - The Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) announced today that the County is preparing to mobilize on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in anticipation of the snow forecasted for this area.
Employees from DPW&T, the Department of Environmental Resources, Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement, and the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission will be deployed to apply salt to County roadways and plow the snow.
“Weather forecasters are predicting the snow will begin on Tuesday morning with an accumulation of 2 to 4 inches,” said Darrell Mobley, Acting Director of DPW&T. “Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution and allow extra time for travel.”
County residents are asked to continue parking on the even-numbered sides of residential streets or in their driveways. Residents are also requested to shovel their driveways after plowing has occurred and to remove snow/ice from the sidewalks abutting their homes and businesses.
To report snow conditions on your street, wait 12 hours after the precipitation has stopped and call CountyClick at 311 or the Snow Information Center at 301-350-0500. Residents may also visit the County’s website at www.princegeorgescountymd.gov to report snow conditions via the Snow Request Form.
