LARGO, MD – The Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) closed Brock Bridge Road at the Prince George’s/Anne Arundel County line, Sunnyside Avenue at the Indian Creek Bridge in Beltsville, Surratt Road at Summit Creek in Clinton and Contee Road at Mayfair Road in Laurel due to high water caused by the heavy rainfall. DPW&T will reopen the roadways after the rain ends and the necessary safety evaluations have been conducted. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes.

DPW&T has posted high water warning signs on Governors Bridge Road by the bridge at the Prince George’s/Anne Arundel County lines. Motorists are encouraged to never drive in areas where the water is covering the roadway. Make the smart choice and “turn around, don’t drown.”

Crews from DPW&T will monitor the roadways and all high water locations until the rain ends. In addition, all pumping stations are in full operation and will be staffed throughout the storm.
