County Invites Residents to Participate in the Spring Clean Up Green Up

LARGO, MD - Prince George’s County will be conducting its annual countywide Spring ‘Clean Up Green Up’ initiative on Saturday, April 26, 2014 and invites community organizations, schools and businesses to participate by coordinating a day of cleaning, weed removal and mulching. 

“Clean Up Green Up is an opportunity for all residents to show their commitment to keeping Prince George’s County clean and attractive,” said DPW&T Director Darrell Mobley.  “Clean Up Green Up activities are conducted in the Spring and Fall of each year, and I encourage residents to participate in these beautification efforts.”

To register for ‘Clean Up Green Up,’ please fill out the online registration form and scan and e-mail it back to SVannaseng@co.pg.md.us  or mail or fax it to the following address by April 18, 2014:

The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) will provide participants with plastic gloves, trash bags, safety vests, up to 10 bags of mulch and litter grabbers for the ‘Clean Up Green Up.’  Supplies and mulch will be available for pick up at the Maintenance Facility located at 8400 D’Arcy Road, in Forestville on Wednesday, April 23 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and on Thursday, April 24 and Friday, April 25 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Students who participate in the ‘Clean Up Green Up’ will receive community service credits.  Verification forms for community service are available at the schools.
