Clinton - District 5

The Prince George’s County Police Department, District 5 Police Station is located at 6707 Groveton Drive, Clinton, MD.  The phone number for District 5 is 301-856-3130.  District 5 serves the greater communities of Clinton, Marlton, Brandywine, Accokeek, Aquasco, Rosaryville, Croom, Eagle Harbor and parts of Camp Springs and Upper Marlboro.  District 5 is the largest of all of the Districts in the county in terms of area.  District 5 is over 171 square miles, which is over a quarter of the entire county.  District 5 serves almost 77,000 residents and answers almost 75,000 calls for service annually.

The area of District 5 is divided into seven beats or boundaries.  District 5 is known amongst the Police Department as Frank Sector.  Please contact the District 5 Police Station if you would like to know which beat/boundary your home or business is located in.  Every beat/boundary in Prince George’s County is staffed by a Patrol Officer as well as a Community Oriented Police Officer (COPS Officer).  The COPS Officer is a liaison between the community and the Police Department.  I encourage each of you to contact the District 5 Police Station to find out who YOUR COPS Officer is.  In an emergency, always call 911.  If your issue is not an emergency, the COPS officer is a contact and a conduit to get things done in your respective community.

Our mission here at District 5 is to bring you quality Police service that you can depend on during your time of need.  District 5 is also an active member of the community we serve.  Here at District 5 we have the District 5 Citizens’ Advisory Council (CAC).  The CAC consists of citizens representing a cross-section of neighborhoods who work hand-in-hand with the Police on safety issues facing their communities.  The objective of the CAC is to develop, maintain and enhance the Police/Community relationship.  Anyone who is a resident or has a business in the District 5 area is welcome to attend.  The meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at the District 5 Police Station at 7 PM. 

District 5 Police Officers are also active participants in the District 5 Coffee Club.  The Coffee Club is a non-partisan public forum for all citizens, business owners, organizations and public officials who share the goal of working together to build a stronger, safer community.  The Coffee Club is led by a concerned group of District 5 citizens.  The Coffee Club meets every Wednesday at the Safeway in the Woodrow Crossing Shopping Center in Clinton.  The Coffee Club meetings start at 9 AM. District 5 is also active and participates in the following initiatives: Community Advocates for Family and Youth (CAFY), Community Emergency Response Team (CERT of South County), Judicial Watch, Neighborhood Watch, Police Athletic League (PAL), Police Explorers, TRIAD/SALT (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) and Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS).  To learn more about or join any of these programs listed, contact the Sergeant of the District 5 COPS Office at 301-856-3130.
