Applicant Testing Process

  1. Apply on-line
    • Create a user profile
    • Complete questionnaire
    • Complete application
    • Receive email reply (Approximately 5 business days)
  2. Email reply instructions
    • Self schedule APRT
      • Normally scheduled every Thursday at 10:00 a.m.
    • Download Medical Waiver (Must bring completed form to APRT)
  3. APRT (must pass to take the written exam)
  4. Pass/Retest APRT
    • Passing Applicants will be scheduled for the next Written Test (You may reschedule)
      • Scheduled one Saturday a month
    • Retesting APRT Applicants may schedule a future date.
      • Applicants still need Medical Waiver (waiver is good for 1 year from signed date
      • APRT attempts are unlimited
  5. Written Examination
  6. Pass/Retest Written Examination
    • Passing Applicants will be contacted by Public Safety Investigations
    • Retesting Applicants will be scheduled for the next Written Test (You may reschedule)
      • Applicants who have two unsuccessful Written Tests scores will have to wait 1 year to reapply
