County leverages GovDelivery solution to keep residents informed of news, events, and information efficiently and effectively

Largo, MD – Prince George's County recently announced a new communications platform, branded as Subscribe MyPGC.  Subscribe MyPGC, which can be accessed on the County’s website, allows residents to stay up-to-date on news, events, and other information. The system directly supports County Executive Rushern L. Baker III’s focus on providing information and ensuring the transparency of government in a more accessible and efficient manner. MyPGC

By utilizing the GovDelivery Communications Cloud platform, Prince George's County government can now simply and cost-effectively disseminate important information to its residents and businesses through a fully automated process.  Prior to using the GovDelivery system, disseminating information to residents created challenges for the government. Now, with the help of Subscribe MyPGC, the various agencies, offices, and branches in Prince George's County simply update content on the website and an email is automatically sent to the subscribers.  The email content can also be automatically distributed simultaneously through social media, such as Twitter and Facebook.

"Subscribe MyPGC is an exciting new feature that will make it much easier for the County Government to keep residents informed about events that are occurring in Prince George's County. This system will enable residents to have greater access to information and resources that the county government has to offer,” said County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III.

“Prince George's County sought to improve a cumbersome and costly process to distribute important information, and GovDelivery is the platform driving that improvement,” said Scott Burns, CEO and co-Founder of GovDelivery. “We are excited to help Prince George’s County better connect with the public, dramatically improve the delivery of information, and ultimately encourage more stakeholder engagement to help the county meet its mission goals.”
