About Homeland Security




The office of Homeland Security (OHS) has the primary responsibility and authority for directing county-wide activities pertaining to the preparedness, prevention of, and the protection from natural and terrorist threats and events.


Our Core Services include:


  • Preventing and deterring terrorist attacks, protecting against and responding to threats and hazards within the County.
  • Providing 9-1-1 call center services; including the dispatch of emergency calls to the appropriate public safety agencies.

  • Protecting communities by coordinating and integrating all activities necessary to build, sustain and improve the capabilities to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to and recover from threatened or actual natural disasters.
