“WE3 - Women Educated, Women Empowered, Women Engaged”

Upper Marlboro, MD – The Prince George’s County Commission for Women, in partnership with the Office of the County Executive, Prince George’s County Council, the Department of Family Services, Prince George’s Community College and The Community Foundation for Prince George’s County, will host the “WE3 - Women Educated, Women Empowered, Women Engaged”  Women’s Legislative Conference on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Prince George’s Community College. The annual Prince George’s Women’s Legislative Conference provides a forum that enables participants to hear from local, state and federal political leaders. The conference also includes interactive panel discussions and presentations that educate, empower, and engage women about the legislative processes, advocacy and relevant policy issues. The Prince George’s County Women’s Legislative Conference anticipates 700 women, college and high school student attendees including organizations, Commissions, women in leadership and a host of elected legislators  throughout the State of Maryland. The theme of the conference is “Educate, Empower, Engage” and the anticipated outcomes of the conference are to teach women how to navigate the legislative process, understand the relationship between the legislation and their daily lives and encourage more women to get to know their elected officials so that they can actively participate in the political process.
