Maryland Video Lottery Facility Location Commission (VLFLC) Site Visit and Public Comment Sessions for Prince George’s County Casino License Proposals

Upper Marlboro, MD – Maryland’s Video Lottery Facility Location Commission (VLFLC) will conduct site visits and hold public comment sessions for Prince George’s casino operation license proposals.  Each applicant will present on one of three days – October 21, 23, or 25 at Friendly High School, 10000 Allentown Road, Fort Washington, MD.  The public comment sessions will also be webcasted live on the County’s website at http://www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/AboutPGC/Pages/casino-public-hearings.aspx

Schedule of proposing companies:

  • Monday, October 21 – Prince George’s Racing Ventures, LLC (Hollywood Casino Resort at Rosecroft Raceway)
  • Wednesday, October 23 – Maryland Casino, LLC (Parx Casino Hotel and Spa in Fort Washington)
  • Friday, October 25 – MGM National Harbor, LLC

On each of the three days, the Commission’s schedule will be as follows:

  • 2:00 p.m.: Tour of the proposed facility location
  • 3:30 p.m.: Applicant presentation to Commission
  • 6:00 p.m.: Public hearing (including brief public presentation by applicant)

In November 2008, the Video Lottery Facility Location Commission was established by the Maryland General Assembly with the mission of conducting a competitive bidding process to award up to sig licenses to operate a video lottery facility in Maryland.  The Video Lottery Facility Location Commission has awarded license in five location in the State of Maryland; four of those casinos are in operation. The fifth facility, located in Baltimore City, is under construction and slated to open in 2014.
