Community Volunteers to Gather for Beautification Cleanups on Saturday, April 5

County cleanups seek volunteers and are free and open to the public

LARGO, MD – Prince George’s County is inviting volunteers to celebrate Earth Day Month by participating in community cleanups being held in various areas throughout the County on Saturday, April 5, 2014.  All cleanups start at 9 a.m. and end at 12 p.m., followed with a volunteer celebration taking place at Robert Fitzgerald Kennedy Memorial Stadium (RFK) located at 2400 E. Capitol Street, S.E. in Washington DC.   Most events are still in need of volunteers and students are encouraged to participate to earn their Student Service Learning hours. 

The Prince George’s County Department of Environmental Resources (DER) will help lead some of the cleanup sites and has provided clean up materials and supplies needed at the locations such as roll-off containers, litter grabbers and gloves.

Cleanup events will include the following:
