Update for Thursday, May 8, 2014
Trash and recyclables will be picked up on Friday, May 9 at 10 a.m. Residents are asked to place their trash and recycling receptacles at the curb for collection by 10 a.m. tomorrow morning.
The Reception Center at Harmony Hall will be open on Friday, May 9 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will be providing lunch and dinner for the residents. The Center will continue to be open through Sunday, May 11.
Geo-technical engineers, state geologists and USGS are on the scene and have noticed continued minor shifts in the slope. They will be working throughout the weekend to collect soil samples and assess the slope failure.
WSSC continues repair work to a broken section of the water main in the area of 13725 Piscataway Drive. The break was discovered on Wednesday, May 7, and repair work will continue on Friday, May 9. The break is not impacting fire protection on the lower portion of Piscataway Drive. Today, WSSC crews also began to investigate the condition of the sewer main on the lower portion of Piscataway Drive and will continue the investigation tomorrow.
