Prince George’s County Update on Winter Storm

Snow Emergency Plan Continues 

Upper Marlboro, MD –Prince George’s County will remain under a Winter Storm Warning until Friday, February 14, 2014.  Prince George’s County officials are encouraging residents to stay safe and monitor the weather conditions.

Snow Emergency Plan

The Prince George’s County Snow Emergency Plan remains in effect. With the forecast for additional precipitation, residents are encouraged to stay off major roadways.  When possible, residents are asked to remove vehicles from streets and roads so that snow plows have better access.

Snow Plow Update

 Department of Public Works & Transportation employees continue to work round-the clock and have plowed 70 % of all primary roads including emergency routes, bus routes and main roadways. Approximately 200 plows are currently deployed and are consistently maintaining County roadways.

The utility companies are reporting total of 8,572 households in the County that are experiencing power outages.
