Voting Unit Technician

 The Prince George’s County Board of Elections is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of Voting Unit Technician/Programmer for the Gubernatorial Early Voting, Primary and General Election. This is a temporary position.  

Voting Unit Technician/Programmer  


Technician/Programmers will prepare, program voting units, devices and pack supplies. As a technician you will prepare voting units, configure peripherals and troubleshoot issues with equipment in the warehouse and support polling places on Election Day.  

Mandatory overtime is required, which includes some evenings and weekends. These positions require standing and working in the warehouse environment. A major requirement is excellent oral and written communication skills. Individuals will be trained on voting units and peripherals.   

You must meet the following qualifications: 

  1. Must be registered to vote in the State of Maryland

  2. You must not have a Federal Offense 

  3. You must be able to lift 60 lbs 

  4. You should have your own transportation 

  5. Experience working as a member of a team 

  6. Experience using computers and scripted copy (following directions) 

  7. Must be proficient in English 

  8. Must have a High School Diploma 

  9. Any equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience will also be accepted
