Prince George’s County Council Member Eric Olson (D) – District 3, in partnership with Douglas Development, Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation, the Redevelopment Authority of Prince George’s County, and the Town of Riverdale Park, encouraged local businesses to consider Riverdale Park Town Center as a viable location for business success during an open house event today, Thursday, June 6, 2013.
The Riverdale Park Town Center, located at 6220 Rhode Island Avenue in Riverdale Park, is located adjacent to the Gateway Arts District and in close proximity to the University of Maryland Research Park and the University of Maryland. A total of 16,715 square feet of space is available for lease at the Town Center location.
Council Member Eric Olson (D) – District 3, says Riverdale Park Town Center is a prime location for those looking to start a new business or expand an existing one.
“Riverdale Park is a thriving, growing historic community with tremendous economic development potential. The Town Center space is underutilized and we remain focused on introducing potential tenants to the location and bringing businesses that residents want and deserve. We already have an exciting new tenant coming to the space. We anticipate more to follow and look forward to a vibrant future.”
A Small Business Development Competition is currently underway to attract existing and start-up businesses to the Riverdale Park Town Center. The competition winner will be eligible to lease up to 877 square feet of retail space in the Town Center at below-market rent. Additionally, the winner may apply for funding through the County’s Economic Development Incentive Fund (EDIF) for building construction and improvement; equipment acquisition; and working capital.
