Will Campos (D) – District 2 has called Prince George’s home for over 29 years. He currently resides in the City of Hyattsville. After immigrating to the United States, he attended Prince George’s County public schools until he graduated from Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD. Council Member Campos attended the University of Maryland and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ancient Art History. Seeking higher education, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Studies and Information Systems from the University of Maryland, University College. He then served as Hispanic Liaison to former Prince George's County Executive Jack B. Johnson, prior to being elected.
Council Member Campos was elected to the Prince George’s County Council on November 2, 2004, serving the remaining two years of a four-year term vacated by his predecessor, Mr. Peter Shapiro. The first Latino to serve on the Prince George’s County Council, Council Member Campos was then re-elected November 7, 2006 and served his first full four year term. In November 2010, he was elected for his final four year term.
Council Member Campos represents the 2nd Council District which includes Adelphi, Avondale, The Town of Brentwood, Carole Highlands, Chillum, Cool Spring Terrace, Green Meadows, The City of Hyattsville, Langley Park, Lewisdale, North Woodridge, The City of Mount Rainier, The Town North Brent-wood, and University Hills.
For the 2013 Legislative year, Council Member Campos serves as Chair of the Rules, General Assembly & COW, and Vice-Chair of the Transportation, Housing and The Environment (THE). He is a member of the Health, Education, and Human Services Committee (HEHS).
