Crime, Children and Safer Communities Workgroup


Crime_logoThe Work Group on Crime, Children and Safer Communities was established by Council Resolution CR-12-2013 in an effort to address the recent spike in youth violence and homicides in Prince George’s County and recommend strategies and solutions that need to be implemented in order to enhance the safety and decrease the crime on the youth in our communities; to examine, enforce and strengthen laws on truancy; to create an environment of Zero Tolerance on gun violence in the County; to explore the culpability of parents for the actions of their children; to examine the effects of domestic violence on youth violence; and to review the recommendations of the Youth and Gang Violence Prevention Task Force and the Youth and Gang Violence Prevention Steering Committee.
