Today, Veteran's Day, it is our privilege to remember, honor and offer a deep sense of gratitude to those brave and courageous men and women who have served our country, many of whom have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can continue to live in freedom.

On behalf of the citizens we are privileged to serve, the Prince George's County Council salutes our veterans, including the nearly 70,000 veterans who call Prince George's County home, and our Council colleague and veteran, the Honorable Ingrid M. Turner, Esq.

In a moment of personal privilege, I wish to also remember the service of my father, the late Honorable James Fletcher, an Air Force veteran, who once served in Council leadership.

Our veterans are true patriots defending honor, duty and country, and we thank them for their service, which inspires each of us to work even harder to enhance our quality of life and ensure the greatness of the communities they have sacrificed so much to protect.
