National Night Out
Encourages Neighborhood Involvement and Police-Community Partnerships
Prince George’s County Council Member Karen
R. Toles (D) – District 7, will join residents, public safety officials and the
District 7 Team for National Night Out activities on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at
various locations throughout District 7 communities.
Council Member Toles, who chairs the Council
Committee on Public Safety and Fiscal Management, is excited to participate in
this national safety event.
“National Night Out is a wonderful tradition
and a great way to promote safety awareness, while enjoying time with our
neighbors. I will be traveling throughout District 7 promoting “Keeping Our
Communities Safe,” to celebrate the progress we have made together in crime
reduction, and discuss how we can continue to keep our neighborhoods safe with
effective tools and strategies.”
Night Out, established in 1984 by the National Association of Town Watch
(NATW), promotes involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community
partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
