“Fitness is a Family Affair” Event Focuses on Community Health and Wellness
Prince George’s County Council Vice Chair Obie Patterson (D) – District 8, in partnership with the Kappa Foundation of Fort Washington and the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), will host the 2nd Annual District 8 Community Health Fair 2013 – Fitness is a Family Affair on Saturday, September 28, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex, 7007 Bock Road in Fort Washington, Maryland.
The day’s events will feature over 70 vendors offering free medical, dental and vision screenings; family friendly physical fitness activities; giveaways and door prizes.  Health care representatives, including physicians will also be on hand to answer questions and provide information relative to various health- related needs.
“With continued outreach and education, we can combat the negative impact of health disparities and improve access to quality and affordable health care in our community,” said Vice Chair Patterson.  “I am pleased to partner with the Kappa Foundation and the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission to offer this event to District 8 residents again this year.” 
This event is free and open to the public. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Overflow parking and health fair shuttle service available beginning at 9:00 a.m. from The National Church of God, 6700 Bock Road, Fort Washington, Maryland.
