District 7 Community Event Features Easter Egg Hunt, Petting Zoo and Fun for the Entire Family
Prince George’s County Council Member Karen R. Toles (D) – District 7, in partnership with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) Department of Parks and Recreation, will host a ”Hop into Health Spring 2014 Extravaganza” on Saturday, April 19, 2014, from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Heights Community Center, 2300 Oxon Run Drive in Temple Hills.
The day’s event will feature an egg hunt, bunny hop, fitness contest, petting zoo, train and pony rides, photos with the Easter Bunny and fun for the entire family.  All event activities are free and open to the public.
Council Member Toles says she is pleased to host the Hop Into Health Spring Extravaganza for the fourth consecutive year.
“The Hop into Health Spring Extravaganza is a ‘must attend’ event for children and families in District 7. Everyone is not able to attend the White House Easter Egg Roll, so we bring the same level of excitement and anticipation directly to our residents.  Young people will have an opportunity to participate in a number of fun activities, all in an environment that is safe and fun for the entire family.  We are looking forward to a great time and want all the kids to come out for a chance to find the Golden Egg!”
As an extension of the Hop Into Health Spring Extravaganza event, Council Member Toles also recently partnered with two District 7 churches for a Food Basket Give-a-way.
“This year, for the first time, we were able add a food basket give-a-way to our extravaganza events,” said Council Member Toles.  “It was our pleasure to join Community of Hope AME and Hunter Memorial AME in support of families in need. Through this effort, food baskets were provided to over 100 families in our District 7 communities – just in time for Easter.”
