UPPER MARLBORO, MD – The Prince George’s County Department of Corrections will raise money for their annual Pencil Box Project by dunking senior officers in a tank filled with water. Employees may purchase balls and hurl them at the bull’s eye aiming to submerge their supervisors in a pool of water. The senior officers will be in full uniform for the fundraiser.

The money raised will be used for the Pencil Box Project which has been sponsored by the Department of Corrections for 18 years. The Pencil Box Project purchases school supplies for elementary age students in Prince George’s County. The 2013 Pencil Box Project will focus on elementary schools located in the Glassmanor/Oxon Hill community which is one of County Executive Baker’s Transforming Neighbor Initiative areas.

Pre-packaged supplies will be purchased and given to students at the beginning of the school year. The goal is to give students the necessary tools for a successful school year.

All Media should RSVP by calling 301-952-7018 for clearance into the facility.
